Local roofing in Newmarket
Newmarket gets more snow than the city, and it sits on the roof longer. On homes with low-slope sections or poor attic venting, that snow melts from the bottom, refreezes at the cold eaves and builds ice dams. The water backs up under the shingles and shows up on the ceiling in February.
A lot of Newmarket homes were built in the 1970s and 80s in Glenway, Armitage and Summerhill, and many are on their second or third roof. When we replace them, ice and water shield goes along every eave and valley, and we check that the soffits are actually venting.
What we do
Residential and commercial work, quoted in writing.

Leaks, lifted or missing shingles, failed flashing at chimneys and vents, storm and ice-dam damage. We find where the water is getting in before we price the fix.

Tear-off to the deck, ice and water shield at the eaves and valleys, new underlayment, vents and shingles, and a cleaned-up yard.

Modified bitumen roofs and flat-roof repairs for rear additions, garages, semis and commercial buildings.

Seamless aluminum eavestrough and downspouts, repairs, cleaning and leaf guards.

Skylight replacement and leak repair, with new flashing so the unit sits tight to the roof.

Aluminum soffit and fascia that keeps the attic venting and protects the roof edge from rot.

Questions
Heat escaping into the attic melts the snow on the roof, and the water refreezes at the colder eaves. Better attic venting and insulation help, and ice and water shield under the shingles stops the water getting into the house if a dam does form.
Spring through fall is ideal, and fall is the busiest season for roofers here. If your roof is leaking now, don’t wait for spring: we can repair it now and plan the replacement.
Yes, if the rest of the roof is in good shape. We’ll show you photos of what we find so you can decide.
