Working with Rutherford Contracting, our crews re-roofed several buildings at Canada’s Wonderland on Major Mackenzie. Each one needed a different system, and the park doesn’t stop for a roofer.
Most Vaughan homes aren’t that complicated, but a lot of them are big. Houses built in Woodbridge, Maple and Vellore in the 1990s and 2000s have steep pitches, lots of hips and valleys, and original builder-grade shingles that are now 20 to 30 years old. Valleys and step flashing against brick are where those roofs usually start leaking first.

If the leak is in one spot and the rest of the shingles still lie flat and hold their granules, a repair usually makes sense. If the shingles are curling, cracking or shedding granules into the eavestrough across the whole roof, and the house is 20 or more years old, replacement is usually the better spend. We install natural cedar and slate as well as composite options like Brava cedar shake, which is what we used on Alpen Fury. Composite gives the look with less maintenance, and we can walk you through both.
